Regolamento del Comitato Scientifico
Art. 1 – I soci fondatori dell’associazione Onlus “Damiano per l’Ematologia”, in base ad una decisione presa a maggioranza, da una rosa di esperti nel campo dell’Ematologia, nomina un Editor che provvederà a scegliere, a sua discrezione, i membri del Comitato Scientifico in un numero mai superiore ad 8.
Art. 2 – Gli esperti prescelti dovranno dichiarare all’Editor di aver preso visione e di accettare le presenti norme prima di entrare a far parte del Comitato Scientifico.
Art. 3 – Compiti del Comitato Scientifico sono:
a. esaminare i progetti presentati dai candidati al concorso per l’assegnazione della borsa di studio annuale,
b. proporre al Comitato Direttivo, se lo ritiene opportuno, campagne di sensibilizzazione, eventi e convegni.
Art. 4 – La valutazione di merito dei progetti per l’assegnazione della borsa di studio dovrà avvenire secondo la seguente procedura:
a. i soci fondatori inviano il testo dei progetti presentati al Comitato Scientifico nella persona di un componente che funge da Editor,
b. prima di iniziare la valutazione ciascun revisore dovrà dichiarare all’editor qualunque conflitto di interessi con i progetti che gli sono stati assegnati,
c. i giudizi saranno espressi da ogni revisore su apposita scheda, in cui sono stati riportati 5 parametri di valutazione: rilevanza, originalità, innovazione, metodi, riproducibilità/applicabilità. Per ciascun parametro è previsto un punteggio variabile da 0 a 5. La somma dei punti assegnati porta ad ottenere il punteggio di merito di ciascun progetto. Per punteggi dei parametri “originalità” e “riproducibilità/applicabilità” ≥ 4 saranno aggiunti 5 punti al punteggio di merito. Al termine dell’esame di ciascun progetto il revisore esprimerà un giudizio complessivo sul medesimo.
d. L’Editor dovrà inviare all’Associazione le schede compilate entro 40 giorni dal ricevimento delle stesse.
Art. 5 – Ogni componente il Comitato Scientifico deve rinunciare all’incarico se nel corso della valutazione ha individuato l’autore o il gruppo di lavoro dell’autore.
Art. 6 – Tutte le comunicazioni all’interno del Comitato Scientifico e fra questo e l’Associazione avverranno per posta elettronica.
Art. 7 – L’opera svolta da ogni componente il Comitato Scientifico avrà un riconoscimento simbolico sottoforma di gift cards, il cui ammontare sarà deciso dai soci fondatori, ogni anno, dopo l’aggiudicazione della borsa di studio.
Rules of the Scientific Committee
Art. 1 – The founding members of “Damiano per l’Ematologia” non profit association, on the basis of a decision taken by majority vote, from a roster of experts in the field of Hematology, appoints an Editor who will choose at her/his discretion the members of the Scientific Committee in a number never exceeding 8.
Art. 2 – The experts chosen will have to declare to the Editor that they have read and agree to the present rules before joining the Scientific Committee.
Art. 3 – Tasks of the Scientific Committee are:
a) to examine projects submitted by the candidates in the competition for the annual scholarship award,
b) to propose to the Association, if deemed appropriate, awareness campaigns, events and meetings.
Art. 4 – The assessment of the merit of projects for the annual scholarship award will be made accordingly to the following procedure:
a. The founding members send the anonymous text of the projects to the Editor.
b. Before starting the evaluation of the projects each member of the Scientific Committee must disclose to the Editor any conflict of interest with the project(s) that she/he has been assigned.
c. The reviewers must complete an evaluation form on the basis of the following parameters: topic relevance, originality, innovation, methods, reproducibility/applicability of results. A score ranging from 0 to 5 points is assigned for each parameter. The sum of the points will calculate the merit score. Five points will be added to this score if the points of “originality” and “reproducibility/applicability” are ≥ 4. Finally, the reviewer will express an overall opinion on the project examined.
d. The evaluation forms must be returned by the Editor to the Association within 40 days of receipt.
Art. 5 – Every member of the Scientific Committee must resign if during the evaluation of the project(s) she/he has identified the author or the author working group.
Art. 6 – All communications within the Scientific Committee and between it and the Association will take place by e-mail.
Art. 7 – The job done by each member of the Scientific Committee will have a symbolic reward in the form of gift cards, whose amount will be establish by the founding members of the Association, each year, after the end of the competition.
